Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy is a time of immense change in a woman's body; not only are you creating new life, with all physiological demands that that entails, but your shape and your centre of gravity are changing too. This alters the way you move and can place additional strain on your lower back, hips and knees producing the aches and pains that are common in pregnancy.

 

This is a time when a woman needs to be nurtured and supported. Pregnancy Massage at Muscle Balance brings together the advanced skills of the soft tissue therapist with an understanding of the demands placed on the pregnant body and the stress and strain that can results.

 

Soothing overworked muscles and easing tension and restriction. Key areas that we attend to include the hips, lower back, knees, ankles, shoulders and neck.

 

We deal sensitively with the needs of the pregnant woman in our positioning, using elevated supine and supported side lying positions for maximum comfort. This allows us to access all of the relevant muscle groups that may need attention. Cotton sheets protect modesty throughout and blankets provide warmth where needed.

 

We allow 90 minutes for our pregnancy massage to ensure that there is no need to rush or hurry through the treatment. Refreshment is available throughout and a nutritious snack is available if you are peckish.

 

Please note:  We undertake a detailed screening prior to your appointment to identify any issues that may require the treatment to be modified and adapted for your needs.
