Sports & Remedial Massage

What is Sports & Remedial Massage?

Sports Massage combines classic massage strokes with advanced soft tissue techniques to release tension and restriction in the soft tissues of the body.

We fit the hands on treatment to the person and their symptoms.

A first session will involve some medical questions and a history of the issue that needs attention. We may also look at posture, movement, strength and stability to help us understand the problem better. That way we can deliver a personal and tailored treatment.

These are the advanced soft tissue techniques we use.

  • Muscle Energy Techniques

  • Soft Tissue Release

  • NeuroMuscular  Techniques

  • Myofascial Release

We have a range of massage and soft tissue techniques that we can use to not only address the current discomfort but also the causes of the problem.

Importantly, all of our clients leave the clinic with a manageable package of home care advice. This may include:

  • mobility or strength exercises to consolidate and progress the changes achieved

  • tips for modifying training or work activities to help manage their condition

  • nutritional advice (prepared by a medical nutritionist)

Who can benefit?

Sports & Remedial Massage is helpful to anyone not just sports people.  Our clients vary in age from 11 to 96 years of age and cover all activity levels from competitive athletes to those with restricted mobility.

Whether we are treating an injury, discomfort or keeping an injury at bay, our goal is to help you feel better and to be able to move with ease.

We also want you to leave us better informed and empowered to deal more effectively with the issues that may have given rise to your pain or discomfort in the first place.

Testimonials

"I first went to see Caroline as I was suffering from constant headaches, lower back pain and issues with my hip.  As soon as I met her she made me feel at ease and made me feel that I mattered.  Within a number of weeks my headaches were under control and my back pain had vanished.  She made some suggestions to help me further and my hip pain is now a thing of the past.  I cannot recommend Caroline highly enough, she gave freedom from pain.  Thank you Caroline!"
