Happy Christmas

I just wanted to wish all of my lovely clients a very Merry Christmas. I hope between all the Christmas rush and mayhem you get some time to relax and spend some quality time doing something that nurtures and refreshes you.

TOP TOPS FOR CHRISTMAS SURVIVAL To help you to ride out the Christmas period with grace here are a few tips. Breathe – To use whenever things get on top of you. Take a short breath into the belly and let it out long and slow, as if you are blowing out a candle very gently. Focus solely on the flow of breath. Do this 10-15 times and it will calm your stress response and leave you calm and clear headed. This is especially useful during Christmas shopping trips. Go for a walk – Running out of time to do your usual exercise and feeling a bit stodgy after too many mince pies? Wrap up warm and head outside for a brisk 20 to 30 minute walk. Breathe deeply and feel the refreshing cold on your face. You will return energised and, you never know, the washing up might just be done when you get back! Nourish yourself – Amongst all the booze, treats and sweet things try to get some decent food inside you at least once a day. Some protein, a good amount of veg and some healthy fats are best. Hearty soups and some slow cooker recipes are a gift for the time challenged. Slow cooker chicken is my family’s current favourite. Hug someone – Make sure you know them and always ask first! Human or pet will do. You can’t underestimate the soothing benefits of this type of interaction. Children instinctively know the power of the hug but grown-ups tend to forget. Time to get reacquainted.

Just a final reminder - our last day before Christmas is Friday 16th December and we reopen on Tuesday 3rd January 2017. Very best wishes for Christmas and the New Year. Caroline x
